How to install IRCCloud desktop client (on Fedora)

IRCCloud is a web IRC client, which I highly recommend. It's easy to use and has a nice web client, desktop clients and mobile apps.

IRCCloud doesn't provide RPM package for Fedora. Fortunately, we can use AppImage. It means that you can download single file and run it on any (am I correct?) linux distribuion, without installing it.

You can download AppImage file from GitHub: https://github.com/irccloud/irccloud-desktop. Go to releases page, select version and download file with AppImage extension.

I like to keep all applications which are not installed via DNF in the same directory. I've created ~/Apps directory, where I keep IRCCloud client application.

Open terminal, go to directory with downloaded AppImage file and make the file executable.

chmod +x irccloud-desktop-0.3.0-linux-x86_64.AppImage

Run IRCCloud client.

It will ask if it should add a desktop file. Say yes. It will create an icon in your system so it will be easier to run IRCCloud by just selecting it from application menu (without command line).

Done. You can create a new account or sign in to the existing one.

You can also add an icon to the tray using option from File menu.

On Fedora with Gnome it looks like this:

Here is an example how IRCCloud looks.
